MARKET EVIDENCE
How Market Comparables Affect a Deal
A market price is useful only when it represents a genuinely comparable product. DealAI treats independent evidence as a core part of deciding whether a price gap deserves attention.
Why one listing is not enough
A single listing may be an outlier, a temporary promotion, a different licence, an unavailable product or an old page. Using it as the market benchmark can make an ordinary product look unusually cheap.
Compare like with like
When comparing prices, check the product version, quantity, access period, licence, included files and any important limitations. A $50 product with permanent commercial rights should not automatically be compared with a $50 personal-use subscription.
Independent domains add confidence
Multiple pages on the same marketplace can repeat the same pricing information. Independent domains give stronger evidence that the observed price exists outside one seller's ecosystem. DealAI therefore treats independent market domains as an important validation signal.
Customer savings matter too
A deal is not automatically attractive because its market reference is high. If the proposed customer price is almost the same as the comparable median, the customer may not receive a meaningful saving. A useful arbitrage model needs room for both customer value and operator costs.
Prices change
Digital prices can move quickly because of sales, bundles, coupons, launches and subscription changes. Market evidence should therefore be treated as time-sensitive evidence, not a permanent fact.
How DealAI uses the evidence
The DealAI engine combines comparable pricing with acquisition cost, operating costs, resale rights, evidence quantity and other signals. The goal is not to predict the future perfectly. The goal is to make the assumptions visible so a person can make a better decision.
